Muscogee Lodge #116

2024 Cornerstone Conclave

The Cornerstone Conclave is the premiere Section-level event of the year, where all OA lodges from South Carolina and parts of North Carolina, and Georgia (see map) descend on a local camp to compete for Lodge of the Year, the Quest for the Golden Arrow, hold Section officer elections, and join in fellowship with other Arrowmen from around the state.

Where to go!

The 2024 OA E-7 Cornerstone Conclave will be held April 26 – 28, 2024 at Belk Scout Reservation in Midland, NC. Enter a starting address HERE to create a map to the camp at 9408 Belt Rd, Midland, NC 28107.

The 2024 Conclave theme will be announced after the Fall Council of Chiefs meeting.

What it costs!

Cost: The fee for this year’s E-7 Conclave will be $70 per delegate. This fee includes meals, delegate patch, camp usage fee, program, participation pin, BSA Insurance, and Muscogee delegate & trader patches, t-shirt and spirit items. As with all lodge events, financial assistance may be applied for while completing your registration.

How to register!

Registration: Register through Muscogee Lodge. Conclave memorabilia items may also be purchased as part of your registration. All pre-order merchandise orders must be placed by January 30, 2024. Delegate registration must be made by January 31, 2024 or whenever all delegate spaces are sold-out. **Please note** Any delegates who register after the registration deadline will not be guaranteed a spot in the delegation (or a ditty bag). The lodge will ask for additional delegation spots, based on the number of Arrowmen on the waitlist.

Delegate Information

Health Forms & Medical Concerns

If you did not turn in your BSA Health Form at the 2024 Spring Induction Weekend, please complete parts A and B, sign part A (these do NOT require a doctor’s signature, just parent/guardian), and send the signed forms to medical@muscogeelodge.org. This is a secure inbox with extremely limited access, so rest assured that your personal information will be safeguarded. Delegates who do not have a health form on file with the medical officer will not be allowed to attend Conclave, and their registration fee will be forfeited. Also, if you have significant health concerns or dietary restrictions, please send a note to the medical officer at the email address above, so we can prepare for the weekend.

Transportation To/From Conclave

The address for Belk Scout Reservation is 9408 Belt Rd, Midland, NC 28107. Traffic coming into and around the Charlotte area on Friday afternoons can add 30-90 minutes to travel times. Parking may be limited at camp. As such, we ask that any adult who is willing and able to drive youth to and from the event to please assist us. We will have several groups meeting in locations, below. There is a “captain” assigned to each location, so if you have a specific question for them, their name and number are provided below. That said, they’ll reach out to you by early next week to share the meeting time/place for your respective locations.

  • Columbia: TBA
  • Myrtle Beach: TBA
  • Sumter & Florence: TBA
  • Orangeburg: TBA

The Sunday Morning Chapel/Awards Ceremony should hopefully conclude by 11:00 AM, although this is not a certainty. We plan to arrive back in the assigned drop-off locations within approximately 2-3 hours after departure. Arrowmen will be asked to call the person who will pick them up once we depart camp and have a better prediction of arrival time.

Pre-Ordered Items & Patches for Sale

If you pre-ordered Conclave memorabilia (patches, mugs, etc.) there will be two primary opportunities to pick up your items. The first opportunity will be at Conclave, beginning Friday evening at the campsite, once everything has been received from the service lodge and divided up appropriately. You will also receive your ditty bag and delegate items at this time. The second opportunity will be at the Summer Fellowship held at Camp Barstow on July 18-21, 2024. Please note that once you pick up your items, you assume full responsibility for anything lost, damaged, or stolen. There will also be a limited number of Conclave memorabilia available at the trading post. Historically, these sell out very quickly, so you are encouraged to make your purchases at your earliest opportunity.

2024 Cornerstone Conclave Delegate Set

Designed by the 2024 Vice Chief of Administration, Michael O., the delegate patch set includes a pocket flap patch and an activity patch (i.e., dangle). Both patches follow the lodge spirit theme for the 2024 event, “Taking Care of Business”. Pre-orders are available as a step in the event registration process, and any remaining patches will be sold from the lodge store at subsequent events (if any remain).

What to Bring to Conclave

You should bring the same types of items that you would to any other OA Fellowship or campout. That said, you will want to bring a tent, or arrange to share a tent. No one over 17 may share a tent with anyone under 18 unless it is a parent/guardian and their child. Conclave is a uniformed event. Only bring BSA uniforms (including OA sash) and clothing except for any clothing that is directly associated with the delegation spirit theme. Please also bring a flashlight, water bottle, sleeping bag, pillow, rain gear, toiletries, towel, sunscreen, bug spray, and spending money. Be sure to check the weather leading up to the event for more up-to-date information to guide your packing decisions. Note that you will be dropping off your gear at a designated station by the parking lot for transportation to the campsite, so be sure it is as compact as possible.

Campsite Accommodations

Our campsite has some limited accommodations, so please plan to bring a tent or share one with someone else, just in case. We will not have enough room to fit everyone in the cabins or canvas tents provided by the service lodge.

Conclave Competitions

There are many ways to participate at Conclave! There’s the Quest for the Golden Arrow, Ceremonies Evaluation, Training, Administrative and American Indian Activities. We will need competitors and judges for each of these events, so if you are interested please reach out at conclave@muscogeelodge.org so we can add you to our list!

Unable to Attend

If you find that you will not be able to attend Conclave, contact us at conclave@muscogeelodge.org. Although Conclave fees are not refundable, we may be able to transfer your fee to another Arrowman who wishes to attend, thereby making a refund possible. Likewise, if you know of others wishing to attend Conclave, have them contact us and they will be added to the delegation or placed on a waiting list in case such cancellations occur.

Emergency Contact

If your family has an emergency and needs to get in contact with you, please have them call Lodge Adviser Mason Thomas at (803) 360-3155 or Lodge Staff Adviser Scott Hagler at (919) 750-1283.

We look forward to having you all join us for this incredible event where we will have the largest lodge delegation in well over a decade! PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SEND US YOUR SIGNED MEDICAL FORM!! If you have any questions please email us at conclave@muscogeelodge.org.
