During the weekend of November 10-12, 2023, Preston K. and Sean G. attended the National Leadership Seminar, with Grace Franklin serving as an instructor on the event staff. Also, Adam Lamkin and Greg Smith attended the Developing Youth Leadership Training, with Mason Thomas serving as instructor on the event staff. Congratulations to the Arrowmen in the photo, below, who completed the courses this weekend.
Each of the two leadership courses are designed to support the development of key leadership skills and abilities, supporting leaders from Muscogee #116.
- NLS – Course participants make a promise to themselves to apply the skills learned on projects in their lodge, council, and community. NLS prepares Arrowmen to become better leaders both within and outside the Scouting program.
- DYLT – Conference topics include learning how to promote resilience, foster a growth mindset, provide constructive feedback, and create a life-long mentoring relationship. Conference participants gain insights necessary to successfully mentor youth, applying the leadership skills they gain during the National Leadership Seminar.
The next opportunity to attend NLS (for Youth or Young Adult) or DYLC (for Adults) will be held January 26-28, 2024 in Columbia, SC. Go to the event page to learn more and to register for the event.
