Our Annual Banquet will kick off our 2018 Lodge Year on January 6, 2018 at Lexington United Methodist Church. There will be a special Business Meeting for all youth at  5:00pm during which a new standard issue lodge flap will be chosen, the Silent Patch Auction will begin at 5:30pm, and the Banquet will open the 2018 Lodge Year promptly at 6:00pm. Catered by Little Pigs BBQ, the cost per adult will be $12 and for those under 6 will be $6.

Registration for the Banquet is now live at www.muscogeelodge.org and will continue until December 28, 2017. The price this year is $12/adult and $6/children 6 and under, please register before December 28th so that we can plan accordingly with the caterer.

This event will be one you will not soon forget as we begin the next step in our journey by recognizing the achievements of our Arrowmen and the lodge over the past year and looking forward to the future. All 2017 new Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil members will be recognized, so bring your family and join in on this memorable occasion.

Throughout the morning as well, our Camp Director and Program Director will be available to conduct interviews for 2018 summer camp staff. As an OA member your role on camp staff is vital to ensure that the highest ideals of the Scout Oath and Law are present and modeled for the next generations of Scouts.

Todd Kelly has been involved in Scouting for more than 40 years, beginning in 1973 as a Cub Scout in Wilson, NC. He earned his Eagle Scout Rank as a member of Troop 35 in Commerce, GA in 1983. Todd attended the 1983 National Jamboree; was inducted into Mowogo Lodge, Order of the Arrow in 1982; and, was selected for the Vigil Honor in 1996.

Todd spent ten years as an executive with the Boy Scouts of America, including seven years on the staff of the Northeast Georgia Council, where he served as Piedmont District Executive, Cherokee Diestric Executive, and Council Program Director. Todd was the Camp Director at Camp Rainey Mountain (CRM) in 1992 and ‘93 and served as Business Manager from 1994 to 1997. Among his accomplishments during that time, Todd designed the “CRM” logo still in use today.

Todd also served two and a half years as Exploring Executive and Program Director of the Indian Waters Council and was involved in some of the development efforts at Camp Barstow on Lake Murray.

Todd earned his Wood Badge beads in 1992 as a member of course SE-578, then had the honor of serving on Wood Badge staff on five other courses in three different councils.

Todd is a graduate of the National Camping School and is a six time faculty member in the management, commissioner, and program sections.

For the past eleven years, Todd has been involved with Tali Atsila, the Advanced Outdoor Skills Training course offered to scouters in the Northeast Georgia Council. He served as Course Director in 2008.

After Professional Scouting, Todd served for seven years in the Georgia Department of Revenue as Division Director of the Taxpayer Accounting Division, and as Assisstant Director of the Taxpayer Services Division, with specific responsibility for administering the Sales and Use Tax Section, the Motor Fuel Tax Section, the Registration and Licensing Section, and the Individual and Business Section.

Currently, Todd is President of Big Rock Publishing and we welcome him back to the midlands as one of our special guests at this year’s banquet!

 

John Cuenin, 2009 Muscogee Lodge Chief and 2010/11 SR-5 Section Chief, will be giving an address on service outside of the Lodge and Scouting’s impact on his life.
