Muscogee Lodge #116

2023 Lodge Banquet

The first meeting of the newly merged Muscogee Lodge #116 will take place Saturday, January 7 at Trinity UMC in Sumter, SC. We have a few notes for you as we prepare for this historic business meeting and banquet:

Attire

As this is a historic occasion, with the joining of our two lodges featuring both a lodge business meeting and banquet, the Scout Field Uniform (Class A) with the Order of the Arrow sash is proper attire. For family members and other guests who do not have a Scout uniform, business attire is appropriate.

Location

Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 226 W Liberty Street, Sumter, SC 29150. We will gather in the Williams-Brice Center along Council Street. Parking is available in the Council Street Parking Lot and the Liberty Street Parking Lot. This map of the CHURCH CAMPUS will help guide you to the correct location.

Business Meeting

This portion is for youth members & adult advisers. Others are welcome to observe or come later for the Banquet. Check-in opens at noon and the Business Meeting starts at 1:16 PM. In preparation, the Lodge Merger Task Force would like for all youth members to review THIS PACKET which contains the Lodge Rules for ratification, calendar, and organizational chart. Second, new lodge and chapter officers will be elected, so please find the POSITION DESCRIPTIONS HERE. Finally, a new lodge flap will be selected. The Merger Task Force has narrowed down the NEW LODGE FLAP designs to three options, so please review them ahead of the meeting.

Banquet

Like the business meeting, the banquet will be jam-packed, so we will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Adults and family members who are not part of the business meeting may arrive any time before 5:00 PM to check-in for the banquet. While you wait, there will be a silent auction beginning at 3:00 PM with all sorts of great items!  If you have anything you would like to donate to the silent auction, please bring them with you and give to Dan Wagner before 2:45 PM.

During the banquet, we will recognize our new Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil Honor Members as well as present the Jimmy Duffy and Bernie Moore Services Awards, the Ralph Grier and Charles Youngblood Chapter Awards, the Founder’s Award, and the OA Distinguished Service Award. We will also swear in our new Lodge Chief with a special ceremony as well as other lodge and chapter officers.

Dinner

Dinner is provided by DNH Catering of Manning, SC, and will include BBQ, hash, rice, mac n’ cheese, green beans, roll, and beverages.

We are excited to have this opportunity to join together for this historic merger with our first business meeting and banquet. We truly are Better Together!
