Basic Information

When & Where:

The 2017 Dixie Fellowship will be held 28-30 April at Camp Barstow near Batesburg, SC.

Annual BSA Health and Medical Record:

We MUST have a current Annual BSA Health and Medical Record  (parts A & B) for each delegate to Dixie. You can download the form HERE. We only need parts A & B of the current (2014) form. This does NOT require a doctor's signature.

Fortunately the National Office is making this easier. The current version of the Annual BSA Health and Medical Record form is a fillable PDF. We would strongly recommend that you fill it in and save a copy on your computer. You can then go in each year and edit the form. This new form also allows for digital signatures.

Please bring your completed BSA Medical Form with you to Dixie.

What to bring to Dixie:

You should bring to Dixie the same types of items that you would to any other fellowship. You will need to bring a tent, or arrange to share a tent. No one over 17 may share a tent with anyone under 18 unless it is a parent and their son. Dixie is a uniformed event. Only bring BSA uniforms and clothing except for any clothing that is directly associated with the delegation spirit theme.
Keep in mind also that April is a very unpredictable month for weather. Pack accordingly.

Pre-Orders & Dixie Supplies:

If you pre-ordered Dixie supplies (patches, mugs, etc.), there will be two opportunities to pick up your supplies. The first opportunity will be during the Dixie Fellowship at a time and location announced at the 7:30 p.m. Friday meeting and the second will be on Sunday morning before we leave. You are encouraged to wait until Sunday to pick up your supplies. If you get them during Dixie, you assume full responsibility for anything lost, damaged, or stolen. There will also be a limited number of Dixie supplies available at the trading post at Dixie. Historically, these sell out very quickly, so you are encouraged to make your purchases at your earliest opportunity.

Delegates will be camping in personal tents. Please bring a tent or plan to share one with someone else. Of course, youth and adults may not stay in the same tent (except for parent/child). For purposes of housing, "adult" determination is based on the age of 18, as is BSA policy.

Staff Information

Key Staff Leadership

As you may imagine, a large staff is required to host the Dixie Fellowship.  We are looking to have at least 175 staff members, in addition to 100 delegates, to adequately support this huge event.  Our staff will be organized into several functional teams:

*AIC = "Arrowman In Charge"

STAFF FEE:  The fee for staff members is just $65.  This is just $15 more than the delegate fee, but also includes a staff patch, staff hat, staff polo shirt and staff t-shirt.  These “extra” staff items have a retail value of $59.

At Dixie, we will have Muscogee members doing only staff functions, we will have Muscogee members doing only delegate functions, and we will probably have lots of Muscogee members that are doing both delegate and staff functions.  We will have a designated “delegation” that includes our event competitors and judges, and we will have designated “staff” but we will all be working to make this a great Dixie Fellowship.  Plus, ALL Muscogee Arrowmen, we hope, will be involved in the preparatory Staff work at the Dixie Work Weekend in February and Dixie Set-up Weekend in April.  For registration purposes, if you have volunteered or been recruited to serve on one of the Staff functional teams, you should register as “staff” at the $65 fee.  If you are planning to come to Dixie as a delegate, or are unsure yet whether you will have a formal staff role, as an active member of the Dixie Service Lodge, you have the option to pay the $65 staff fee, which will include the staff items listed above, or pay the $50 delegate fee (which includes a delegate t-shirt, but not the staff items).  Do know that anyone registering as staff is expected to attend Dixie and is subject to being “drafted” to help with the Dixie functional teams as needed.

Imagine a typical Muscogee Lodge Fellowship times 10 and you have a Dixie Fellowship. This once a year gathering is for all ten lodges in section SR-5 and is held at a different venue every year that corresponds with each lodge in a rotation. This year Dixie is hosted by Muscogee Lodge at Camp Barstow

Dear Brothers,

The Dixie Fellowship has in recent years grown into one of the largest section OA gatherings in the United States, and Muscogee Lodge has developed a winning reputation at Dixie. To maintain this tradition, we need an enthusiastic, well-organized, and well-rehearsed team. You are part of that team.

This year Dixie will be held at Camp Barstow, Batesburg, SC. The overall theme of this year's Dixie is "Whisper of the Past, A Vision of the Future". Muscogee Lodge Contingent's theme is TBD. We need your help to represent Muscogee Lodge! We have ordered T-shirts, and many other spirit items but we still need more. If you have any questions about this, please contact the 2017 Dixie Chairman (TBD).

We hope this guide will be of help to you in many ways. If questions arise about anything please contact the Dixie Chairman (TBD) or Michael Farrell (Dixie Adviser).

See you at Dixie!

You can't go to Dixie?

If you find that you will not be able to attend Dixie any time prior to our departure, contact Robert Sears (phone: 803-606-9959 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) or Michael Farrell (phone: 803-397-2643 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). Although Dixie fees are not refundable, we may be able to transfer your fee to another Arrowman who wishes to attend, thereby making a refund possible. Likewise, if you know of others wishing to attend Dixie, have them contact Robert Sears or Michael Farrell and they will be added to the delegation or placed on a waiting list in case such cancellations occur.
